Zach Morrow has been working with Boron Capital for nearly 5 years. Zach has a strong business background, having owned and operated two businesses before selling them to join the Boron Capital Team. With Boron Capital, he is in charge of the Investor Relations for three private investment funds that operate in a variety of alternative asset classes. He also serves as a development and strategy advisor to the Fund.
Zach is a Marine Corps veteran who served for 5 years on active duty. During his tour of duty, he received the Presidential Support Badge for distinguished service in a position of direct support to the President of the United States. When he first joined the Marine Corps, he was quickly selected as a candidate for the Yankee White (YW) Program, an elite program tasked by the Marine Security Force to provide direct support to the President. This elite Marine Security Force is in charge of the protection and security of Top Secret assets and facilities, as well as top Federal Officials such as the President and Vice President, as well as the direct management of national security matters. YW is regarded as one of the most honored and rare positions in the Corps.

Anything we’re doing on the internet could in theory be utilized or could incorporate blockchain technology.

What is the best way to explain what crypto is to someone who’s a little bit either on the later side of the adoption curve? What’s the number one secret to explaining that to somebody?
Zach Morrow:
Well, I wish I could say the number one way, but obviously, we all know everybody learns a little bit differently. So I’ll try to maybe lay some mental frameworks of how you can process it. Then hopefully, that’ll help everybody be able to break it down a little bit further. But first, I would start by just saying that it is a technological infrastructure, the blockchain technology that really supports any type of digital transaction. Okay, so anything we’re doing on the internet, could in theory be utilized or could incorporate blockchain technology. That technology really is a secure ledger or sort of data system that allows for more secure transparent communication and transactions. So this could be anywhere from the movement of money, this could be in terms of data storage, and medical records, it could be voting, this could be payroll services, this could be title work when it comes to real estate, and a whole endless list of things that could utilize this technology. Now, within side this space, there are a lot of different we’ll call cryptocurrencies, but they’re really companies that are utilizing this technology to try to provide a good or service now. Quick disclaimer, there’s a whole lot of junk out there. It’s kind of like the idea when the internet came out if you had .com at the end of your name, somehow you have these valuations that become astronomical, but that’s not it’s not. But that wasn’t the case. They didn’t all have value, but outside of the internet being built, you then had this tech industry evolve out of it that now has a lot of really large players and a new industry has been involved in even everybody with inside the tech space has a different application, different utility and so what you’re wanting to do is you’re wanting to go and identify where and how you feel this utility can be implemented to society. So when I’m probably jumping ahead here, but what you have is you have different sectors of industry that are supporting this digital infrastructure.
