Please welcome to the show with me, Mr. David Morgan. David, how we doing, sir?
David
Doing well, Brett. That sounds pretty impressive. Now that you read that on, I’m sorry I had to laugh, but no. Thanks for the opportunity to be with you today, and I’m really looking forward to it.
Brett
Absolutely excited to have you on the show, and so today we’re going to be talking about just prudent allocation, financial allocation, and just kind of maybe what’s going on in the general macroeconomic world that you’re seeing today. But before we go there, would you give us just a little bit more about your story and your current focus?
David
Wow, try to be brief. I was very fascinated by money at a very early age. I was 11 years old when the coin has changed from 90% silver coins to what I call the Johnson slugs. That was kind of a wake-up call for me about honest money, real money, sound money. I didn’t really have a clue that what it meant longer term. But as an 11-year-old kid, I said this silver quarters got to be worth more than this one that looks like it has copper and something else in it. Of course, that turned out to be true, but I didn’t have any big revelation at the time other than awareness. I wanted to get into the financial field initially. My dad blew up. He said he had a bad stockbroker. No way you’re doing that. What else you want to do? I started a flying career at 816. Started flying private pilot at 16. By the time I was 19, I had every rating you could get. By the time I entered college, I was working for an aeronautical engineering degree, which I obtained, and I had every rating you could get, even multi-engine. Taught flying through college, came out of college and became a member, a crew member of the B-1 bomber. So, I basically was side by side with the Air Force for a great deal of my career. During that time, I also did moonlight. I got a real estate license, an insurance license, was trading futures, obsessed with the stock market, and I went back to school. I got, I left the aircraft career after about a decade, and in that time, went and got a master’s in finance, and started working for a certified financial planner, and then I took off on my own. So that was probably a long soliloquy, but that’s the story.
Brett
Amazing, David. So basically, one of the most interesting men in the world. If this was a Dos Equis commercial, maybe you would be his cousin or his brother. So that’s pretty
amazing. What a background! Thank you for your service, and that is so neat. My oldest daughter is turning 16 in about a month, and she’s getting her driver permit. I can’t imagine her flying, flying, you know, planes at that age. But that’s really, really cool. So, let’s dive into the topic at hand, which is you know prudent financial allocation in today’s world. What are your thoughts on that, David? And let’s dive in. Okay.
David
Sure. I think today a lot of people are missing a major point, and most people focus on how to build wealth, and that’s fine. But very few still focus on how to keep wealth through a monetary reset. And I think the biggest situation right now is the world’s biggest investors are quietly buying gold, and a lot of investors are vaguely aware of that, but since gold and silver get such little highlights in the mainstream financial press, unless you are, let’s say, very savvy or have a very adept wealth manager, and that’s usually if you’re worth 10 million or more, 20 million or up kind of thing, you don’t even hear the word gold discussed in you.
