Most business owners spend years focused on growing revenue—but very few intentionally build transferable enterprise value. In a recent conversation with Justin Goodbread, we explored his powerful “90-Day Sprint” framework: a focused strategy designed to help entrepreneurs dramatically increase the value of their companies over an 18-month period. Rather than chasing random growth tactics, Justin teaches owners how to improve the specific drivers sophisticated buyers care about most—recurring revenue, operational systems, leadership teams, profit consistency, and reducing owner dependence.

The results can be transformational. Small strategic improvements, executed consistently every 90 days, can compound into significant valuation growth and position a business for a premium exit. And when paired with advanced tax planning strategies like a Deferred Sales Trust, business owners may not only increase the value of the company they sell—but also preserve more of the wealth they worked so hard to create.

Justin

I’m good buddy. How are you? Brett, doing great.

Brett

Doing great. For listeners, get to me for the first time. Would you give us a little bit more about your story and your story and your current focus?

Justin

Absolutely. So, I talk a little slower than you do, because I’m a country boy born and raised in the sticks of South Georgia. Was homeschooled most of my life. Graduated, went off
to college and said, enough is enough. I started since then, started and sold seven companies for seven, eight and nine figure valuations after my last exit. Like you know what? It’s time to teach business owners how to become DECA millionaires. Let’s, let’s highlight the need for that particular goal and that aspiration. Let’s show them a proven framework. And since we launched that coaching business, Brett, I’ve helped a few 100 business owners rapidly scaled DECA millionaire status. It’s been a lot of fun.

Brett

It’s incredible. I can’t wait. Let’s dive right in. And by the way, people want to learn more about Mr. JUSTIN Good bread. You go to JUSTIN Good bread.com that’s JUSTIN Good bread.com So Justin, what is the number one secret, or the first step, or the first mindset, whatever it might be to get started to become a DECA millionaire?

Justin

Yeah. So, we teach a five-step framework we call the DECA millionaire. Way. It’s in our newest book that’ll be coming out this year, and the very first thing is a relentless foundation.
Relentless foundation. I use that word relentless because most of us as business owners, we’re willing to charge hell with a water pistol, as I like to say. You know, we’re tenacious. We know where we want to go. We are willing to grab the bull by the horns, right? But often times, we don’t lay the foundation for growth properly. It’s pretty amazing. And for me, a simple Country Boy, I’ll say the statement that one plus one plus one equals a million, right? One client, one process, one offering. You can scale a business to a million dollars pretty rapidly just doing one plus one plus one plus one. But whenever we set our eyes as business owners, especially in the early days, we buy a business, or we start a business, we end up serving anybody and everybody who’ll fog a mirror, and we throw so many different offerings at them that we cannot scale and that we reach a certain point. Maybe it’s you know, there’s old strategy called1313131, so you get to $10,000 you get $30,000 you get to a million dollars of revenue. $3million of revenue, you get a $10 million in revenue. And each one of these, 131313, run numbers end up actually costing us it causes some problems for us so that we hit a glass ceiling. So, whenever business owners say, I want to rapidly scale and I’ll get past this glass ceiling, we have to move them away from the things which are keeping them stuck. So, the relentless foundation is all about helping the business owner unpack. Where do they truly want to be, and Brett, where we spend most of our time is getting clarity on their vision. Why are they going there? What does it matter? What’s the impact? What’s the purpose? The way I’d like to say it in our company, in our group, is, what is the one thing that Daniel and Brett are willing to do for the rest of your life, if no one pays you, if you can identify that now you’re willing to charge hell with a water pistol. You’re going to do what it takes to get to a deck of millionaire.

Brett

And we are joined, by the way, with the Daniel Barnes everybody. He is co-host of the buildings podcast, filling in at times. And we’re actually doing a dual recording today. We’re both co-hosting to Justin, because Justin Is that wise and smart that we’re going to bring to the same time. So, Sally, the first foundation is the relentless foundation that’s number one and really being, getting that down to the so if you like this little, short clip of the interview I just did, click over here to watch the full interview.
