Shaun Young started investing into Real Estate around 2016 after being laid off from a six figure sales executive job; sounds fancy and secure right? Well neither my title nor my hard work or my long hours of dedication and exceptional performance prevented me or my peers from getting that “we no longer need your services” notice that all employees dread. Never again would I allow myself to be in the position where I could be FIRED! That’s when I found wholesaling.

I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and heard that Real Estate Investing could be a great, if not the best way, to secure financial freedom! Real Estate allows me to be a problem solver and a solution for the home owners and cash buyers that I assist through my Real Estate business. When I’m not involved with finding great off market deals or coaching, I do a lot of reading to stay in the know and to keep my skills sharp and mindset in check, I practice martial arts and enjoy working out at least 3 days a week, I love outdoor activities, hiking, live concerts, comedy shows, traveling and spending as much time as possible with my friends, family and children doing the things that we love.

Brett

awesome Shawn and for you know, our listeners, one of the major questions we asked is a strength question which kind of basically goes back to Sean when he was younger, right? Maybe the high school days, you know, I believe we’ve all been given certain gifts and these gifts have been given to us to be a blessing and help to others. What would you say there’s one or two gifts you believe you were given? It’s called superpower strength right? What do you think you’ve been given? How does that help how you help him bless people today?

Shaun

Well, one of the superpowers that I can definitely feel I have is communication. I feel like I had the ability to communicate and build rapport with pretty much anybody. I had the privilege to have a military father. So I’ve lived all over the country. I lived all over the world. And so by the time I was 18, you know, I you know, I was very well rounded, so to speak.

Brett

Amazing. That’s fantastic communication. And I can also speak to that I was on your podcast just last week. And honestly I was just telling you before the show, I feel like it’s one of the best I’ve ever been on and for your ability to ask great questions and to, to dive in deep on what we were talking about. So excited to dive right into the show right now, which is building your real estate business with virtual assistants. But I imagine this could apply to really any business but we’re gonna focus like a laser right now. By the way, to learn more about Sean Young and dive in you can go to nationwide real estate mastery.com That’s nationwide real estate mastery.com. But Sean, let’s start with the number one secret to building your real estate business with virtual assistants. What is that?

Shaun

The number one secret is to hire a professionally trained virtual assistant. First of all, you got to get it in your mind that you need one. That’s the first thing. Once you understand that you can’t scale by yourself, you’ve got to get out of your own way. Next is finding a qualified, professionally trained virtual assistant, or you will or it’s a waste of time.

Brett

Okay, so let’s start with that guy. This is really good, right? Because he said a couple things to make sure you need one. By the way, if you’re listening to this right now and you don’t think you need one. You need one, just just just you need one, okay? And don’t get overwhelmed with how it’s all gonna go down and what’s all going to happen and all the details like that’s the biggest thing is paralysis analysis. I mean, we can do a whole nother show on that. But you need one start right now. You’re too late. You already are, you’re already wasting your time and your energy that you could be helping somebody you know, build, you know, their career, but at the same time, unlock the gifts you’ve been given. So let’s establish that but you don’t actually want to focus because if you don’t know that by now, go listen to a bunch of other podcasts. But right now I want to focus on that professionally trained one. I think that’s so big. So walk us through that idea Sean, professionally trained. What does that mean? Precisely.

Shaun

Our VA is going through a three step onboarding plan. assets, guys, for one, they’ve got to have a four year degree, they’ve got to have particular internet connection requirements. That’s huge guys, if you’ve not run into that, you’ve just not tried it yet. So you’ll run into that issue, the internet’s down and the internet’s down, can’t connect can’t connect. So we ensure they’ve got the experience that’s needed, we ensure that they’ve got a great accent, and they have ongoing accent coaching. And guys, they have to have a positive attitude. All of the VAs that I work with are all dedicated to my company’s success 100%. That’s the type of attitude that you need for yourself as well, if they’re working for you, from one to four, or from one to five, and then from five to nine to working with somebody else. That’s not what you want. So you want to have someone who’s dedicated to you, that’s what separates a professional virtual assistant, versus just you hiring someone, let’s say off of Fiverr. And there’s nothing wrong with that. You just need one off task. But if you want a team member, you need a professionally trained virtual assistant.

Brett

Okay, so let’s break it down. So the first thing is for your degree, right? I mean, I think there are two or one of them, he said, they’re gonna be dedicated 100%. To you, right, not working multiple hustles. Right. And, and then they have, you know, good, I think I think we were saying Good, good English communication, right? Are they able to communicate well, and don’t maybe, if they have an accent, they’re going to accent training to make sure that they’re improving that communication? is, Am I missing any of what you just said? Right there? Is that a fair summary?

Shaun

You’re right, right on board? You’re spot on spot.

Brett

Okay, what’s so what talks to the access exit training? Okay, what does that look like? Who’s doing that? Are you doing that, or someone else doing that?

Shaun

No, we actually have a coach that does that we have, we have an accent coach that’s dedicated. It’s their specialty that they help folks out with accents. So they train our trainers, or they train our team, they bring on, you know, they have sessions with virtual assistants who might have a heavier accent up front, but they’ve got the skill set for sure that we need in our organization. So it’s great, it’s a great benefit for us. But I can tell you that most of our virtual assistants that worked for our company, they just sound like their regular folks from California or something.

Brett

I’m curious when you get it, that’s amazing. I love that you took this train, right? Because you’re not training and coaching your VA, you can’t imagine that they’re gonna show up, although, Oh, you did say they’re already professionally trained before they showed up, right? At least some training right in that area. In other words, make sure they have expertise. And they’ve been doing this thing that you’re hiring them to do, you’re not having to start from scratch, however, you’re gonna be training the accent is, Am I missing that on my way off there? What?

Shaun

Yeah, the accent is an ongoing, it’s an ongoing training, your VA is monitored and managed by us throughout the entire process that you’re with us. So you’re not just throwing a virtual assistant and being left alone, we’re actually helping you out with that process to again manage and monitor that virtual assistant. So that’s where that comes into play.
