Jason Kay – “When I was in kindergarten, my father started to lose his eyesight. Growing up with someone facing the challenges of a severe handicap has definitely shaped me – it made me appreciate what I have and instilled a strong desire to want to help others.”

All these questions uncover the values. And that then helps the client move forward, which is ultimately what everybody wants, because they’re not calling you to waste their time and your time and go, Hey, I’m thinking I might want to, it’s no.

Brett

As it pertains to sales and negotiation, what are the values that we’re trying to uncover for the potential client that we’re looking to help?

Jason

So I was looking at values as motivations, specifically in terms of buying a home? What is causing them to want to buy a home? Are they moving? Do they have a start date are is their family expanding? So it’s asking those probing questions, and it’s no different when I’m working with an investor either. It’s like, okay, what sort of ROI Are you looking for? Are you looking for a specific geographic location, specific type of home. So this one is going to be used for a secondary purpose, such as a vacation home, or a place where I can come and visit my kids while they’re attending school? So asking all these questions, uncovers the values. And that then helps the client move forward, which is ultimately what everybody wants, because they’re not calling you to waste their time and your time and go, Hey, I’m thinking I might want to it’s No, by the time they pick up a phone or something like this that weighs 500 pounds, it’s why are they calling you? And that’s what you’re looking for? Absolutely.

Brett

And so values the way that success coaching and Eli, Eli, C, H, Aug. pH defines it are and what Jason is saying is that what’s what’s important to us on a deep, subconscious level, and so to Jason’s point, if someone’s picking up the phone to call or reach out to you, they have a problem or challenge or looking to move past and sometimes we have to uncover and least under definitely understand what the values are. And so they’re, they’re high level, general generalizations that motivate us. And our values you two things for us, they dictate what we spend our time on. And they are a filter through which we judge our actions and our other people’s reactions, right? So they’re, they dictate what we spend our time on, I think Jason goes like this, show me your bank account, right? And I’ll show you what you value, right? Your calendar and what you budget your time for, and I’ll show you what you value. And so these are the two things and so if you’re looking to help your potential client or a prospect, you really need to understand their values, what they value, so that what you can provide can be of value right? In other words, solve or move forward in and build on their values.
